High School Crash Course.  Featuring Student Writing Intensive C in just four days, students unpack the Excellence in Writing method with an introduction to:
Unit 1 Note Making and Outlines
Unit 2 Writing from Notes
Unit 3 Narrative Stories
Unit 4 Summarizing a Reference
Note Taking from a Lecture
Unit 6 Summarizing Multiple References
Unit 7 Composition
Unit 8 Essay
We go beyond pedantic book reports and creative writing into solid structures with specialized stylistic techniques to create a more enjoyable finished composition. The student’s perception that writing is “too hard” changes; they now have the tools for success! Assignments are largely completed in class, but there is some homework on Wednesday.

HIGH SCHOOL ESSAY.
We’ll learn general strategies for essay writing, how to understand and prepare for the new ACT® Essay, how to approach and tackle the Redesigned SAT® Essay, and strategies for the personal essay, useful for applying for college, scholarships, or a job.  This workshop provides immediate experience and inside tips toward high school essay writing, including text analysis, response-to-literature prompts, and the college application personal essay.
